Welcome to the Rhode Island Yacht Club Racing Program.
The Rhode Island Yacht Club race series runs throughout the summer beginning with our Spring Series on Tuesday evenings starting mid May. We host two regattas, the Gaspee Regatta and the Ladies Cup Regatta in June.
Vessels participating in RIYC races are handicapped using the PHRF system administered locally by PHRF – Narragansett Bay (PHRF-NB). All vessels participating in seasonal racing or special events are required to provide a current PHRF-NB certificate available from the organization at www.phrf-nb.org. PHRF handicaps are applied to participating vessels using the “time-on-distance” method.
