RHODE ISLAND YACHT CLUB

"Since 1875"

In order to provide a secure Wi-Fi network, club members must register with the IT Committee each device they wish to connect, including their name, member number, and other information related to each computer or other connected device.  This can be accomplished by completing the online registration form from the IT committee.

Please click on this link to be brought to the Wi-Fi request form.  If you have any questions send them via email to wifi@riyc.org

General Wi-Fi Access Guidelines and Usage Conditions:

1) This is a free service provided by Rhode Island Yacht Club as a convenience to its members. We will try to keep it running 24 x 7, but there may be times when we experience an outage. If you need guaranteed coverage, you should consider purchasing an Internet Plan from a Cell Phone Carrier such as Verizon.

2) We make every effort to maintain a virus free environment, but connecting to our network is at your own risk. The Club will not be responsible nor can it be held liable for any damages to your computer incurred while connected to our network.

3) The downloading of illegal content such as copyrighted movies, movies, or the conduction of illegal activities is strictly prohibited and will be ground for immediate loss of privileges.

4) Computers attached to the network are not allowed to be accessed as servers from the "outside."

5) Bandwidth availability is limited and is shared by all. Please be considerate of your fellow members.

6) All devices connected to the RIYC network must be registered with the IT Committee.  Any attempt to connect an unregistered device will be considered grounds for loss of Wi-Fi access privileges.
